Discover
During our consultation phase, we get to know you, your home, and your vision. From here, we develop designs and layouts that give you a full picture of our work, before we start the project. We'll provide a comprehensive pricing depending on the specification.
Design
Once you've agreed to work with us, we create a plan for the project, liaising with all necessary contractors and suppliers. You'll see your vision come to life through technical drawings, specifications, and 3D visuals.
Deliver
This is where the drawings and ideas become tangible. We’re there to protect the design intent, solve challenges as they arise, and make sure the finished result reflects the original vision. We'll take care of as much of the details of the project as you need.

What does bespoke mean?
Every space is specially designed to meet your vision and needs.
Working with Room means every element of the service is entirely bespoke and begins with getting to know you, your family, and your home. Your requirements, tastes, room sizes, and budgets are all carefully considered. From there, we provide clear estimates, tailored designs, and curated material options, bringing together everything needed to create a space that feels perfectly yours.
Will I expect to pay more going through Room over a well known chain name?
The beauty of working with Room is that you set the budget. As an independent, we work entirely to your brief with no restrictions on brands, cabinetry styles, or price ranges. Because there’s no showroom, you’re never paying for unnecessary overheads within your quote. And with access to multiple trusted fabricators, every design can be tailored to the level you want to invest.
What does Room offer?
You can choose a design-only service or a full design-and-install service.
This might include floor plans for a new property you’re not sure how to configure, detailed drawings for bespoke joinery such as kitchens, bedrooms or even something as small as a niche under the stairs. It can also involve creating colour palettes and finishes for a full room scheme, and, if needed, bringing together a trusted team of upholsterers, curtain makers and decorators to bring the vision to life.
How does Room charge?
This service is entirely flexible.
Some clients ask for design advice while using their own preferred supplier, often because the supplier hasn’t quite captured the design they’re looking for. We also manage full-house projects, creating the full design specification, taking the plans to tender, gathering quotes from multiple fabricators, and putting choice and budget firmly back in the client’s hands.
In other cases, we oversee both design and supply, working closely with trusted fabricators to secure competitive pricing that get passed directly on to the client.
Ultimately, clients only pay for our time and expertise. And in many cases, they save money overall, because they’re only paying for the service they actually need, with no unnecessary overheads.
How does it all work?
The first step is simply to get in touch, whether that’s through the contact form, email, phone, or even via social media. A conversation is often the quickest way to answer any questions and explore what you’re looking for.
If you already have floorplans or an architect’s drawings, you can send those across. If you’re right at the beginning and haven’t appointed anyone yet, we can visit the property, check measurements, and understand what’s needed from there.
Why does Room focus on residential design as opposed to commercial?
High-end residential design is where ROOM strengths lie. Founder, Julia Brown, has worked in the industry for over 20 years, after studying interior design for four years and beginning a career as a CAD draftsman to gain technical experience. A year was then spent in Singapore working with a luxury residential design team and knew instantly that this was where she belonged.
Residential work is deeply personal. You’re invited into someone’s home, trusted with their vision, and part of their life for months at a time. Those relationships matter, and more often than not, they become long-term connections and friendships.
